Only the student’s legal guardian may complete the registration form.
By initialing on the form, you agree and understand that registration is to enter your child into the Kindergarten Attendance Challenge (KAC) only. Any student registered for the KAC program cannot be entered into the Every Day Counts Attendance Challenge (EDCAC). Please visit our website for more details about the EDCAC and other programming.
By initialing on the form, you agree and understand that by registering for this program, you are entering your child into the Kindergarten Attendance Challenge (KAC). You further understand, only students with a completed KAC Application and Student Release form signed by the parent or legal guardian will be entered into the attendance challenge drawing.
By initialing on the form, you understand that images of you or your child may be captured and you consent to ONGB/partners using this image and likeness at a later date for any purpose.
By initialing on the form, you are agreeing to share your child’s name publicly for future program promotions.
By initialing on the form, you are agreeing for ONGB to contact you in the future about ONGB Programs.
By signing on the form, you understand that you are giving consent for the school district to release student data to the Oakland Natives Give Back Fund. This includes access to your student’s local assessment results, attendance rate, number of absences, online communications, gender, race/ethnicity, special education status, home language, school of enrollment, grade level, parent address, parent email, parent phone number, free/reduced-price lunch status, student name, student address, student email, student phone, local student identification number, student course grades, current and cumulative GPA

CCPA- The CCPA took effect on January 1, 2020, and is intended to protect the personal information of California residents. The CCPA has certain threshold requirements which a company must meet in order to be required to comply with its provisions. Upon information and belief, our company does not meet those thresholds. Should CCPA ever apply to OaklandNatives.org, the following terms shall apply as well (at a minimum):
You have the right to know what personal information we collect from you (which is discussed in this agreement), what third parties we give this information to, as well as the right to request a copy of the information we have from you and how we have used it. You also have the right to request that we no longer use your personal information, which will be located on our webpages, including making sure its clear as to our purposes for processing personal data, where data is stored, our retention periods for that personal data and who it will be shared with, as well as your rights to your information.
Information Collection and Use
OaklandNatives.org is the sole owner of the information collected on our site. OaklandNatives.org collects and monitors information from our users at several different points on our Web site.
In order to use this Web site as a member, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give contact information (such as but not limited to, name, address, phone number, email address, social media handles, and credit card information). We use this information to contact the user about services on our site for which he/she has expressed interest in our various programs. It is optional for the user to provide demographic information (if ever asked), but encouraged so we can provide a more personalized experience on our site. Please safeguard your password and other personal information. You may be liable for unauthorized use of our web site, as well as have your private information used by others.
Ordering products or making donations
If OaklandNatives.org offers products for purchase, we request information from the user on our order form. OaklandNatives.org does graciously accept donations. For either product sales or donations, a user may be requested to provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer’s orders. If we have trouble processing an order, the information is used to contact the user.
We, or possibly a third party processing center, may store your credit card information after your card has been processed, if you opt for any of our subscriptions.
Third party access to your data
While OaklandNatives.org will make every effort possible to protect your privacy, we do not promise, nor should you expect, that your personally identifiable information or private communications would always remain private. This will include parties who attempt to illegally enter our web site and intercept or access transmissions or private communications.
OaklandNatives.org shall not be liable to you for any third parties use of your data, regardless how its obtained.
We store information that we collect through cookies, log files and/or third parties to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users that details their viewing and sales preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to the users personally identifiable information to provide services and offers to improve the content of the site for the user. This profile is used to tailor a user’s visit to our Web site, to keep users informed about their sales, and to direct pertinent marketing promotions to them. We do not share your profile with other third parties, unless specifically mentioned in this agreement.
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. We may use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user’s hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions.
Cookies will be used on our site to remember and recall login names, login information, previous purchases, potential purchases, as well as other items to help us better understand user’s needs. By setting a cookie on our site, users would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If users reject the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site. Persistent cookies enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. See the “Profile” section.
We use the information we collect from you while you are using the Site in a variety of ways, including using the information to customize features; advertising that appear on the Site (if ever applicable); and, making other offers available to you via email, direct mail or otherwise. We also may provide your information to third parties, such as service providers, contractors and third-party publishers and advertisers for a variety of purposes. Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily make your personal information available for viewing by third parties online – for example on message boards, web logs, through email, or in chat areas – that information can be seen, collected and used by others besides us. We cannot be responsible for any unauthorized third-party use of such information.
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Third Party Advertising
There is some information that is given to third party advertisers (if applicable). These third-party advertisers and ad servers that place and present advertising on the Site also may collect information from you via cookies, web beacons or similar technologies. Information could include data about users’ visit to this site, such as number of times they have viewed an ad (but not user name, address, or other personal information), is used to serve ads to users on this site.
Your email address may be given to third party vendors as well, unless you opt out.

Communications from the Site
Special Offers and Updates
We send all new members a welcoming email and if necessary, to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on (if applicable) products, services, promotions, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.
On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in accordance with the users wishes.
We can use your information to help facilitate requested information, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, enforce user agreements, analyze site usage, as well as site content customization, layout and services. No personal information will be used here though.
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site. This includes, but is not limited to, any defense to any claim in which OaklandNatives.org in a defendant, to assist in any investigations by law enforcement agencies, or violations of any OaklandNatives.org policy.
Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)
While OaklandNatives.org will not rent, sell or share your information in general (except as mentioned in this policy), there are certain instances that your information may be used. We share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personally identifiable information. This is how your information will be shared:
- To partners
- Information relating to minors will only be used with prior parental or guardianship approval.
- If OaklandNatives.org merges with another company, then this information will be shared with the merging company.
Third Party Advertisers
Should we do this in the future, we may share non personal information with third party advertisers, and this will be used to gather information about users for the purpose of targeting our Internet banner advertisements on this site and other sites. The information they collect and share through this technology is not personally identifiable. OaklandNatives.org does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to help facilitate in providing products (if any) or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:
We provide the information to trusted partners (such as shipping companies) who work on behalf of or with OaklandNatives.org under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help OaklandNatives.org communicate with you about offers from OaklandNatives.org and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information;
We have a parent’s permission to share the information if the user is a child under age 13. Parents have the option of allowing OaklandNatives.org to collect and use their child’s information without consenting to OaklandNatives.org sharing of this information with people and companies who may use this information for their own purposes. We will not ask for more information from children than is necessary to participate in this web site. See below for more details on children’s privacy;
We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;
OaklandNatives.org may display targeted advertisements based on personal information. Advertisers (including ad serving companies) may assume that people who interact with, view, or click on targeted ads meet the targeting criteria – for example, age, gender and geographical areas;
OaklandNatives.org does not provide any personal information (other than email address) to the advertiser (if ever applicable) when you interact with or view a targeted ad. However, by interacting with or viewing an ad you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad;
We do not support any illegal use of your private information and will make every effort to stop such practices in order to protect your privacy.
Third Party Intermediaries
We may use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. To the best of our knowledge, these companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
We will partner with other third parties to provide specific services, if and when they are available to us and you. If and when we offer products on our site, we may share names or other contact information with these partners. This information will include e-mail address’, shipping address’ and other needed information. These third parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, we can not guarantee that these third party providers will not disclose your personal information to others organizations.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. In the event OaklandNatives.org goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred. Users will be notified via e-mail, as well as with a prominent notice on our Web site for at least 30 days prior to a change of ownership or control of their personal information. If as a result of the business transition, the users’ personally identifiable information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection they will be given choice consistent with our notification of changes section.
OaklandNatives.org is designed for those who can legally create binding contracts. Therefore, OaklandNatives.org wants to protect children’s privacy. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and its accompanying FTC regulations.
This children’s privacy statement explains our practices with respect to the online collection and use of personal information from children under the age of thirteen, and provides important information regarding their rights under federal law with respect to such information.
This Site is not directed to children under the age of thirteen and we do NOT knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the Site. Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether or not they should proceed with services that require an outside party.

We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. Surveys & Contests
From time-to-time our site may request information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and address), and demographic information (such as zip code). Contact information will be used [shared with the contest [survey] sponsors] to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site. Users’ personally identifiable information is not shared with third parties unless we give prior notice and choice. This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and off-line.

Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment.

Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information
