Attend & Achieve
Back to School Rally

The Attend & Achieve Back to School Rally is a celebration focused on empowering families by giving tools for school and sharing tools for life.

WHY CELEBRATE NEW BEGINNINGS?

Who doesn’t love a fresh start? Don’t you remember the first day of school and what it felt like to be a kid with new clothes, shoes and school supplies? We do! Since 2008, ONGB has focused on empowering families by equipping  children with the tools they need to be successful.
College-bound

TOOLS FOR SCHOOL

We gift tangible goods (valued at more than $250 per child) to families such as books, backpacks and school supplies, bus passes, sneakers, groceries, and more!

Self-assured

TOOLS FOR LIFE

During the event, we host age-appropriate workshops and life skills trainings that build confidence and increase awareness of various topics to support the development and wellbeing of the entire family.

FOSTERING CIVIC AWARENESS

Each year we host the the Attend & Achieve B2SR at City Hall, in Oakland.  This allows children to become familiar with their local city government . Children attend workshops in Council Chambers and Hearing Rooms; introducing them to the spaces where laws and policies that impact their lives are created.

BOOSTING THE LOCAL ECONOMY

We infuses more than $250k into our community each year for this even.  We use local businesses to supply the food, beverages, shoes, and attractions.  We create jobs by hire local seasonal staff to assist in operational execution.

MAKING SURE KIDS ARE DAY ONE READY

Having brand new backpacks and school supplies bolsters the student’s self-esteem and reduces parent guilt for not having money to buy them. It also lightens the financial burden on teachers who often have to backfill supplies for students who do not have essential tools.
